On July 22, my now husband Donny & I traveled to the Caribbean to spend a few days visiting family on St. Thomas and shooting tropical sessions during our stay. A few days after arriving, we packed up our gear and headed to St. John via ferry to capture two of our favorite peoples love, Donny’s cousin, Brian, and his fiance, Caiti (also known as Caiti Snacks, but that’s another story for another day).

This trip was nothing short of amazing (and we have the photos to prove it!) We spent the day adventuring through the densely forested island of St. John, traveling to several different breathtaking locations and spots along the way. Traveling by Jeep, we stopped along the side of the road many times to get the perfect shot when necessary—it didn’t matter if it was reckless or dangerous, so long as we got the shots we were looking for (and we did).

Cinnamon Bay Plantation was the first spot on our list. This 18th Century island gem was the perfect backdrop for Brian & Caiti (who also made the tropical landscape look good as well!). Enjoy its beauty!

The next stop on our tropical adventure was Annaberg Sugar Plantation, a gorgeous 18th Century relic that incredibly still stands after all of these years. Not even hurricanes Irma & Maria could erase these beautiful historic structures. On our route to Annaberg, we also found plenty of great spots to shoot at along the way!

After a long day of traveling around the island, we decided to take 5 (or something like that) to enjoy the ocean!

Our trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands was nothing short of amazing! It is an experience we’ll always remember. Donny & I are so happy to have had the chance to visit our distant islander relatives & friends, and to get a few tropical sessions in during our stay.

PS: Thank you Brian + Caiti for letting us drag you around the hurricane stricken, Jurassic Parkeque, island St. John all day and force you to kiss 400,000 times!
